St Augustine’s awarded Gold!

Posted: 20th October 2023

We are delighted to be the first school to be awarded the Gold Award as part of the ‘Think Trauma’ Awards.
We have spent the last 3 years developing a trauma informed approach at St Augustine’s. This means that we value the positive relationships and trust that we build with our students and families so that we can create a safe space for our students.  We also get to know our students very well and this helps to ensure that any support or intervention that may be needed can be put in place quickly and effectively.
We care deeply about our students; we believe in kindness and being empathetic and we are teaching our students how to regulate their own emotions through an effective pastoral programme which has been designed and implemented for Year 7-13.
We are determined to continue to develop our trauma informed approach, especially working with our student well-being committee this academic year to continue to ensure that all students at St Augustine’s continue to be the best that they can be.
