We believe that Design and Technology plays a vital role in developing students into creative thinkers who can independently appreciate the value of each stage of the design process when solving problems. Through the study of Resistant Materials, Cooking and Nutrition, and Graphics Communication, students develop the skills and confidence to create realistic and innovative design solutions.
We have carefully sequenced our schemes of work to optimise learning and ensure that students build upon key knowledge and skills each year, creating a clear and natural progression throughout their Design and Technology education.
These specialist areas provide opportunities to identify needs, apply and develop subject-specific terminology, and gain practical experience of the techniques, materials, and processes associated with each discipline.
