The School Day

We know that the transition from primary to secondary school can be an exciting prospect for children and families. However, we also recognise that there are some big changes to get used to and the structure and timings of the school day can be a particular source of worry. Here is some information about the school week that may help answer any questions and alleviate any anxieties:

  • Our school week provides 32.5 hrs of learning and pastoral development opportunities.
  • Each day, except Fridays, starts and ends with a 20-minute tutor time where our ‘outstanding’ pastoral programme is delivered to students by our fantastic tutors.
  • All students receive six 50-minute periods of curriculum lessons per day with students able to enjoy a 20-minute morning break and 40-minute lunch.
  • The school’s student hours Monday to Thursday are 8.45am until 3.30pm, Friday’s hours are 8.45am until 2.40pm.
  • We are able to welcome any students from 7.45am for a FREE magic breakfast
  • Students can also take part in our wide range of after school clubs running from 3.30pm until 4.30pm.
