Welcome to the Sociology department.
Sociology provides the learner with an opportunity to look closely at what makes up our society and whether all members of it have equal opportunities to having a fulfilling life. We look at institutions that we are a part of and ask difficult questions about what makes it work and whether there is more to be done to make our systems and intuitions even better. Through the examination of everyday life in families, work, and education students are able to see how external forces have an impact on them and how they in turn have an impact upon society.
