Progression to Post-18

Our sixth form is highly aspirational. Whilst the majority of our sixth form students tend to choose London universities as their preferred post 18 option, we also have students a Cambridge, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh. In terms of London destinations for Post 18, popular choices include Brunel, City, Queen Mary and SOAS, with students also at UCL, Kings and Imperial. We are incredibly lucky to have some of the world’s leading universities on our doorstep, and our students have an excellent record in reading degrees at these institutions.

Our students aim high and are encouraged to do so. The students are well versed and supported in preparing to access Russell Group universities. We are hugely fortunate to have the support of an outstanding UCAS mentor who has a wealth of experience in supporting students, through the writing of personal statements to preparation for interview, to supporting with student loan applications, accommodation and advice in the lead up to results day.

Alongside all that we provide in school, we run annual trips to Oxford and Cambridge for Year 12, and have good links with Jesus College Cambridge and Magdalene at Oxford. We also have good relationships with many London universities who visit our school to present outreach programmes and offer our students exciting enrichment opportunities in supporting their post 18 choices. We also work closely with our fantastic careers department, supporting students with work related learning during their time in sixth form, degree apprenticeships and job applications.
