National Year of Reading 2026
The National Year of Reading 2026 is a nationwide UK campaign aimed at inspiring more people to enjoy reading.
We will be populating this page with the activities we plan on doing this year in the library.

OUR CATALOGUE
Our catalogue is mostly digitalised. You can access our resources through Reading Cloud: browse, check your loans, reserve, write a review, check our reading lists, book of the week. There is a new feature in it call Account Tab, where you can see at a glance your library-use records
LONDON LIBRARY
We are fortunate to have a sponsored school membership. This membership is aimed at both teaching staff and Sixth Form students.
LITERACY PROGRAM (READING PLUS)
We have licences for students from Year 7 to Year 10 to access Reading Plus reading software. An interactive and adaptative program to improve reading comprehension, vocabulary and speed.
All our Year 7 students have weekly assignments of 5 reads and 1 vocabulary; to help with this there is one supported literacy lesson every week, but students have to complement this by doing some of the reading independently either at home or in the library at regular opening times.
READING LISTS
You can find reading lists in Reading Cloud that apply to your year and for different topics such as Wellbeing (Physical and mental health), Deaf Characters, Sixth form, Refugees, LGBTQ+).
