St Augustine’s CE High School is celebrating the achievements of its Sixth Form students following the publication of the 2026 A Level and vocational examination results.
This year’s results demonstrate continued strong performance across a wide range of subjects, with particularly encouraging improvements at the highest grades and an excellent range of outcomes for students across different pathways.
Stronger A Level outcomes
The proportion of students achieving the highest A Level grades has increased significantly this year.

A*–A grades have risen to 20.6%

A*–B grades have increased to 50.6%
There were some particularly impressive individual subject outcomes. In Further Mathematics, 50% of grades were A* and 100% were A*–A. Physics saw 16.7% of students achieve A*, with 50% achieving A*–A and 66.7% achieving A*–B. In Mathematics, 12.5% achieved A*, 33.3% A*–A and 50% A*–B.
Other notable A Level improvement included Business: 83.3% A*–B, History: 100% A*–C, Psychology: 81.8% A*–C, Religious Studies: 60% A*–B and 90% A*–C and Sociology: 88.9% A*–C.
Excellent vocational achievements
Students following vocational pathways have also achieved strong results.

The proportion of students achieving Distinction* has increased to 24%.

100% of vocational grades were Distinction*–Merit.
There were particularly strong performances across several vocational subjects:

BTEC Applied Science: 100% Distinction*–Merit.

BTEC Sport: 42.9% Distinction* and 100% Distinction*–Merit.

CTEC Business: 15.4% Distinction* and 92.3% Distinction*–Distinction.

CTEC ICT: 40% Distinction*, 86.7% Distinction*–Distinction and 100% Distinction*–Merit.
These results reflect the breadth of opportunities available within the Sixth Form and the commitment of staff to ensuring that students can pursue pathways that match their aspirations, interests and strengths.
Success for students from across the school community
The results also highlight the achievements of students from a range of groups. Students with SEND Support achieved an 80% A*–C rate, while students with EAL achieved 83.7% A*–C. Among students eligible for Free School Meals, 77.6% achieved A*–C, with an exceptional 97.1% of FSM students progressing to university or having been offered a university place. The school is also delighted that an increased number of students have accepted or been offered a place at a Russell Group university.
