Do You Need a Place for Year 7 in September 2026?

A Warm Welcome to St Augustine’s High School.

We are delighted that you are considering or have been offered a place in St Augustine’s High School for your child starting in September 2026. We understand that our school may not have been one of your original choices but would like to assure you that there is a warm welcome for your child in our school. If you have not previously visited St Augustine’s or researched our website, we are offering an opportunity for you and your child to visit on the Tuesday 10th March at 9.20am to see the teaching and learning for yourselves, meet with some of the Year 7 team and also ask any questions to myself (Head of High School) and Eugene Moriarty (Head of Federation).

After our SIAMS Inspection (Nov 2022) we were awarded “Excellent” in all categories of the Inspection. The Report stated that “The lives of pupils at St Augustine’s are transformed because they are nurtured and cherished by skilled, caring and insightful adults in the school. School leaders and staff, motivated by the school’s vision, go to exceptional lengths to ensure that pupils, particularly the most vulnerable, have hopeful futures.”

The outcome of our last Ofsted Report (March 2023) was ‘Good’ school in all categories, including effective Safeguarding arrangements and ‘Outstanding’ for our Personal Development Curriculum. The Report stated that “The vision of faith, hope and love is central to this school. The core values of kindness and inclusion are guiding principles.”

Also “Leaders have high expectations, including for pupils’ behaviour. They provide pupils with support and guidance. Pupils are safe, happy and well cared for by staff. Pupils appreciate staff’s approach to managing behaviour in a fair and reflective way.”

We have a well-deserved reputation for offering very caring pastoral support to nurture children through their secondary school experience. We focus on building positive relationships with our students and their families. We are committed to helping your child reach their full potential.

We are an inclusive school where all students, from all backgrounds, of all levels of ability are encouraged to “Be the Best that we can be as we grow in Faith, Hope and Love.” Though we are a Christian school our students come from all faiths or none – we just ask that students show and develop our School Values and Ethos: Inclusion, Courage, Joy, Perseverance, Kindness, Integrity, Curiosity, Respect and Wisdom.

Our students have secured exam results in Year 11 and Year 13 to compete with the best in the country. They have been accepted at a wide range of universities and all students are supported throughout St Augustine’s by a bespoke Work- Related Learning programme. We have links with many prestigious local and international companies which offers our students fantastic opportunities for understanding and preparation for the ‘world of work’.

There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities available throughout the week, and all of these are free. We have some very successful sporting teams – football (boys and girls), basketball, cricket, athletics, etc. We offer a breakfast club before school for all students and there is also instrumental tuition available for piano, guitar, drums and violin. We also have a strong and proactive student leadership body, with students from Year 7 -13 involved with the school council, eco- committee, well-being committee, charity committee and sports council.

To give you an opportunity to have a look around and to answer any questions you may have we are hosting an Open Morning on Tuesday 10th March at 9.20am. Please confirm if your wish to attend the open morning by sending a brief e-mail to jbrady@stahigh.org We look forward to meeting you and your child and would be very pleased if you feel that you would like to accept an offer of a Year 7 place in St Augustine’s CE High School.

Yours sincerely

Ms Kelly – Head of High School and Mr Moriarty – Head of Federation
