History

Welcome to the history department.

Our goal is to give students a broad, balanced understanding of key events in British and world history. We’re motivated by a desire to build connections between learners and the stories that connect us all. To us history creates opportunities for students to develop a deep understanding of the modern world through diverse histories. We regularly look for chances to adapt and change the curriculum to suit the backgrounds and heritages of as many of our students as we can. History at St. Augustine’s is more than just learning facts, we want our students to grow through the history that they experience in the classroom, learning from the mistakes of the past. We seek to give learners a chance to think about values such as respect, tolerance and inclusion through our curriculum.
