Our Year 11 into Year 12 Taster Day gives students the chance to experience life in St Augustine’s Sixth Form and feel confident about their next steps.
On the day, students follow a bespoke timetable based on their subject choices, taking part in taster lessons, workshops and discussions that show what learning is like beyond GCSE.
Students also take part in a Q&A session with current Sixth Form students, giving them honest advice about the move from Year 11 to Year 12, independent study, workload, enrichment and Sixth Form life.
Throughout the day, students hear from our Academic Mentor, Pastoral Mentor and Work Related Learning Lead, who introduce the support available through our personal development, academic guidance, pastoral care and careers offer.
The day also includes opportunities to experience Form Life, meet staff, ask questions and explore how St Augustine’s supports every student to grow academically, personally and professionally.
Following our most recent Taster Day, students rated the experience 4.7 out of 5, with 85% of attendees confirming they planned to stay on for Sixth Form.
