Courageous Advocacy

russ2

A few weeks ago, Mr Goodwin came to the Charity Committee to tell us he had decided (or rather he had been asked!) to shave off his rather impressive beard. But only if WE raised enough money for his chosen charity, Sarcoma UK.

All students were asked to donate £1 or whatever they could afford & then invited along to watch this rather entertaining spectacle unfold! The more outrageous the suggestions for the beard (weird shapes, shaving half of it off, shaving the moustache but leaving the beard...), the more money donated! After first lunch we were on almost £90 with another £120 donated from staff online!

Bone Sarcoma is rare. And it does disproportionately affect YOUNG people. Our community's generosity will make a HUGE difference to survival rates.
