Dear Parent,
You will of course all be aware of the developing situation around Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Government’s ongoing announcements regarding measures to prevent the further spread of COVID -19. In these unprecedented times the Prime Minster has now announced that all schools will close from today Friday 20th March 2020.
There will a minority of schools still open who will support children of certain categories as outlined by the Government.
We are writing to you as the Safer School and Youth Engagement Team to reassure you that we will continue to be supporting your child’s school as much as we can whilst pupils remain away from the education places. The safety and welfare of your child is paramount to us, but we need you to assist us. What we ask is that you speak with your children and explain to them the importance at this time to follow the Government Guidelines and adhere to social distancing. These can be found at www.gov.uk.
Many places of work have now implemented a work from home policy, but we understand that in not all professions this is going to be possible. Children of secondary age will be left at home whilst parents will continue to go to work. With this they will be left at time for many hours without parental supervision. We need you to assist us in ensuring where ever possible they remain safe at home unless there is the upmost necessity for them to go out...read more here
