What Makes a Good CV – Sir Robert McAlpine Interactive Workshop

wrl1

Workskills students in year 11 took part in a live session to discuss what would make a good CV with Alex Ward - Community Manager at Sir Robert McAlpine.

The above event was part of a 6-month coaching programme prepared and offered by our partner Construction Youth Trust who put together a series of interesting and informative events to help students understand the world of work, know about a range of jobs within the built and construction environment, learn about employer’s expectations and develop interview skills.

Student’s feedback

J.E Year 11 student.
‘I found the workshop really helpful and it highlighed what next steps I should take in life. I learned many things like writing a cv, learning about apprenticeships, and how to find a job. Also, it gave me information on different sectors including apprenticeship opportunties I'm interested in.’

‘It has been fantastic working with the year 11 students over the past sixth months. They have risen brilliantly to the challenge of virtual learning and I have been hugely impressed by their dedication and enthusiasm. Asking thoughtful questions of our industry volunteers and fully engaging with the sessions, including virtual mock interviews, they have developed lots of useful skills. A big thank you to the year 11s, Mr Ydri and all our volunteers who have given their time. ‘
