Dress Code

The following dress code has been agreed between the Sixth Form students and the staff at St Augustine’s High School. Our aim is to create a positive and comfortable environment which will encourage a mature and responsible approach to A-Level study while becoming autonomous young adults.

All Year 12 and 13 students are allowed to wear smart casual dress. This allows a student in the Sixth Form to express a sense of individualism while making choices in how to present themselves smartly and ready for work.

We would not expect a student to be wearing blue jeans or hoodies as we feel this does not project an academic focus or mind-set and we would expect Sixth formers to be promoting these values to the younger students in the school. Students are allowed to wear smart, clean ALL black trainers.

Students who do not arrive in the appropriately smart clothing will be requested to go home and change.
